One of my favorite children's books
This book is super cute and the CD is really fun to sing along to. It is about two dogs, Fanny and Blue, the writer says "they go together like a sock and a shoe" and are "loyal and true"... "there's nothing I'd trade for my Fanny and Blue".
Hi Melinda! Although I've heard that John Lithgow wrote a child's book, I've never seen nor read this story. I always am excited to find new books, especially those with a CD. What age group would enjoy this story? Is the CD a song or a re-telling of the story? I read individually with children from a Head Start school, and they seem to thrive when the story is on CD, especially with music. We are currently reading "Brown Bear, Brown Bear," (my all-time favorite), and my children are having the best time singing along with the story. Thanks for sharing, and I look forward to your response! Lois (Walden University)
The CD is a really catchy song. It is silly and the kids LOVE it!!! I have used it with 2-5 year old's and with my own daughter who is 6. She still cracks up so I would say 2 years old through 1st grade at least.
I love books that can be used for all grades. It makes all the children feel connected. I definitely will pick up the book the next time I'm in a book story or library... although I have a feeling that I will want this book in my own library, for sure!
