Artwork that is precious to me
This artwork is important to me not only because it was done by my daughter but because her teacher let her make it without correcting all of the "mistakes". Some letters are backwards and are capitalized when they shouldn't be but that is what makes it special. She was able to write a story about me exactly the way she wanted to. It is kind of hard to read in this photo but it says "My mom is fun. She makes me supper. She loves me. I love her too." It melts my heart!!

Hi Melinda, I love your daughter's artwork! I have kept every card and note ever given to me by my children. My favorite is a note from my daughter when she was about 5 that said "Mom, you are my best friend, I love you even more than chocolate chip cookies!" That was saying a whole lot, because she loved chocolate chip cookies! I said I would keep it so when she is a teenager and I seem like the most awful person in the world I can show it to her, & she can see that we were once best friends - so hopefully she will realize I can't be so bad! I think it might be time to pull it out!
ReplyDeleteHi Melinda,
ReplyDeleteAAh, that is so sweet. It makes a difference when the work is actually done by the child. The teacher really had no idea that she touched your heart. I still keep my son's work. Eventhough he's twenty. I still see him as my baby. It's such a blessing to know that their work is priceless.
