Hi Melinda! I am inspired by Susan Bredekamp Ph.D. as well! I love your quote by her. She has such great vision for children and their needs. I completely agree that a teacher should be purposeful in their teaching and should be able to give an answer for the what they are doing. One thing we used to do at a preschool I worked at before was to write down the things that happened throughout the day in a little blurb on the wall. This was a GREAT way for me to use all my big fancy words for the real learning that was going on ;) I felt it was an easier way for the parents to read it and understand a little more into what their children did that day and why, rather than my boring explanation :)
ReplyDeleteGreat job!
